About Ida Thellufsen

Ida has been involved with horses since she was a little girl. Initially, she was riding ponies and big horses, and she got her first horse at the age of 12. She has been riding Icelandic horses for more than 30 years.

Ida has been teaching riding in different ways. For several years she was an instructor at a riding school in Denmark. Also, in connection with her work as a social education worker, she has great experience in using horses and riding as therapy. She is an educated handicap riding instructor and has worked as such for several years. For more than a decade, Ida has assisted in managing a summer riding camp for people of all ages.

Today, Ida is teaching the riders seat and the principles of posture, breath and awareness to riding horses. The courses are based on Alexander technique and Connected Riding. The course is without horses and combines both theory and exercises.

Ida has 25 years of experience with Alexander technique; a guideline on how we are in balance when we walk, stand and sit - everything that makes us able to obtain a natural posture and freedom to move, when we are riding.

Ida has participated in a number of recognized courses in both the US and Canada focusing on the seat and posture of the rider.

Ida is Eyjolfur's wife and is the contact person and coordinator for Eyjolfur´s clinic activities. She also assists Eyjolfur in the training of horses in connection with clinics.
